Description
Aimee’s wedding is supposed to turn out perfect. Her dress, her fiancé and the location - the idyllic holiday ranch in Brazil - are perfect.
But all Aimee’s plans come crashing down when the private jet that’s taking her from the U.S. to the ranch - where her fiancé awaits her - defects mid-flight and the pilot is forced to perform an emergency landing in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.
With no way to reach civilization, being rescued is Aimee and Tristan’s - the pilot - only hope. A slim one that slowly withers away, desperation taking its place. Because death wanders in the jungle under many forms: starvation, diseases. Beasts.
As Aimee and Tristan fight to find ways to survive, they grow closer. Together they discover that facing old, inner agonies carved by painful pasts takes just as much courage, if not even more, than facing the rainforest.
Despite her devotion to her fiancé, Aimee can’t hide her feelings for Tristan - the man for whom she’s slowly becoming everything. You can hide many things in the rainforest. But not lies. Or love.
Withering Hope is the story of a man who desperately needs forgiveness and the woman who brings him hope. It is a story in which hope births wings and blooms into a love that is as beautiful and intense as it is forbidden.
Note: This novel is recommended for ages 18+ due to sexual content and mature themes.

Excerpts

Praise for the Book
"I loved this book! I liked how the couple's relationship progressed. It wasn't insta-love how most new adult books are. They grew to love each other over time and because of their will to survive together so they wouldn't be stranded alone. The ending to this book was wonderful. Got me right in the feels." ~ Kari

My Review

By Lynda Dickson
A week before her wedding to Chris Moore, Aimee Myller boards Chris' private jet for their wedding venue in Brazil. The only other person on board is the pilot, Tristan Bress. When the plane loses an engine, they are forced to make an emergency landing in the Amazon rainforest. As the weeks pass and they learn to eke out an existence in the wilderness, Aimee grows closer to Tristan, but he still tries to maintain his distance. What secret is he hiding? Will Aimee be able to help him overcome his nightmares? And what will happen if/when they are eventually rescued?
Aimee is portrayed as a smart and practical woman, although she does have her moments of vulnerability. Tristan is strong and resourceful, but he also has his flaws. Their relationship progresses at just the right pace and is very believable. The story is told from their alternating viewpoints in the first person present tense, but Aimee's version sometimes hints at things to come. Tristan's parts are extremely short, but they give us a much-needed insight into his behavior. The sentences are short and choppy at the beginning of the book, but the writing becomes more fluid as the book progresses, and there are some beautiful passages.
This is a riveting read full of action, adventure, and romance. The ending brought a tear to my eye.
