Description
What do you do when the one who broke your heart, is the only one who can fix it?
There is nothing in this world stronger than the powerful emotion of being in love. Except, maybe the paralyzing pain of a broken heart.
Moving to a small unfamiliar beach town in the summer before her senior year of high school is really going to suck. Raven, a black haired beauty, from a well-off family was certain about that. Miserable in her circumstances, nothing could convince her otherwise, until Raven meets Quinn, a local with a love for surfing and a bad reputation to go with it. Despite the very different worlds they live in, their desire for each other is undeniable. Raven’s fears and misery start to vanish as she and Quinn fall deeper and deeper into each other.
But things change drastically when Raven is unknowingly used as a pawn, in a turn of disastrous events, caused by Quinn’s older brother.
The events that follow could silence Raven’s heart for eternity and completely destroy what’s left of Quinn’s soul.
August Moon is a captivating story of young love. Bringing two unlikely hearts together. Only to be shattered by one tortuous decision. Putting these star-crossed lovers on course for the ultimate challenge of forgiveness.

Featured Review
August Moon by Tammy Morea is a difficult book for me to review. Most of the time I like to begin my reviews talking about the book overall and then touch on some key points but this time I’m going to jump to the end and talk mostly about that.
I just finished reading August Moon and have to say that I cannot get the ending out of my head! Although it was not what I expected, it makes sense that it ended the way it did, with something unexpected that also doubled as a cliffhanger. For obvious reasons I have to fight the urge to tell you what happened but if you have read this book – you should add it to your reading list if you haven’t – you too will be wishing for the sequel to come out as soon as possible.
Now for the rest of the book! I found that overall, August Moon is your typical love story taken to the next level. One of my favourite parts of the book is that partway through, the perspective would switch between the two protagonists allowing us to build a more personal bond with both of them instead of just with the main protagonist. Usually I am wary about this approach but for a story like August Moon, it worked out well as you get to see inside each of the main character’s heads.
In conclusion, if you are looking for a fun, summer read then August Moon is what you have been looking for. Read this book and you won’t regret it.

Character Interview With Quinn by Tammy Morea
Tammy Morea chats with Quinn O’Shea, the male protagonist of August Moon.
T: Hello Quinn, Thanks for chatting with us today.
Q: Thanks for having me. I just want to warn you I’m kind of a one word answer guy, unless you’re a close friend or family member.
T: Okay, no problem Quinn. How about I ask you one or two personal questions and then we just do some rapid-fire ones? They're usually good for one word answer type guys.
Q: Sounds good, one condition though. No questions about Raven, I just can’t go there, right now.
T: I’m sorry to hear that, but I understand. I hear you are a lifeguard in the summers and you are also an exceptional surfer. Want to tell us a little bit of your history with the ocean and your surf board?
Q: Sure, let’s see. I started surfing when I was around seven or eight years old. My Dad taught me and my three brothers. Surfing is sort of a rite of passage when you grow up in Long Beach. Even if you never become any good at it, if you’re a local, you try it at some point. Before that I was on a boogie board, ya know the foam ones that you lay on your stomach and ride the waves in.
T: Do you play any other sports? Maybe Ice Hockey, like your best friend MaryKate? Speaking of MaryKate, what’s it like having a girl for a best friend?
Q: No, I don’t play any other sports. Okay, so first of all I don’t call her MaryKate, she’s just MK to me and having a girl for a best friend is way better than having a guy best friend. Girls are just more… I don’t know… Rational. Well MK is anyway.
T: Ready for those rapid-fire questions?
Q: Go…
T: Books or Movies?
Q: Movies.
T: Coke or Pepsi?
Q: Neither, I drink ice tea.
T: Vanilla or Chocolate?
Q: Vanilla, but sometimes I like a twist.
T: Hawaii or California?
Q: Hawaii, best waves.
T: Fast car or fast motorcycle?
Q: Both.
T: Alright Quinn, I won’t torture you with any more Questions. I’m sorry about your situation with Raven. I guess we will have to read your story in August Moon to see how things turn out. Thanks a lot for taking the time to talk with us.
Q: Sure thing, have a good one.

From the Author
I am a Young Adult author. My first novel, August Moon, has just been released. Besides writing I love to read Romance, YA, ChicLit, Fantasy, Paranormal, and a good autobiography never hurt anyone.
My other greatest passion is animals, I love them all, but I have a weakness for dogs, I wish I could save every single one that needs saving. I have a dog Tank, he’s my heart and he’s a big… mush, I bite his face all day long and he lets me. I also love mini pigs, one day I will have one. My fiancé Chris doesn’t think so, but what does he know?
I think I’m an amateur photographer, but really I just like to take pictures and sometimes they come out really good. I love riding on the back of Chris’ Harley, it’s my favorite form of transportation. I’m obsessed with the Twilight Saga, those books literally changed my life. Tattoos are sexy, I have seven. I pretty much love anything with a skull on it. My thumb is very green, just ask my air plants. I can cook my ass off, just ask Chris. I enjoy being active in all different ways- hiking, biking, camping, taking Tank for a 3 mile walk, working out, or sitting on the couch all day catching up on my DVR recordings. I love to dress up and wear makeup and accessories (I have a ring addiction, that I think I might need some counseling for) and heels, but I can get dirty on a camping trip or hang out in my sweats and a tee all day, I will even walk Tank in PJs with no makeup on (yep, you heard me, PJs, no makeup - outside in public).
I come from a big crazy Italian family and I wouldn’t have it any other way. And just because I want to give her props, I think Marilyn Monroe is the sexiest, hottest, bad-ass bitch in the history of bitches (bitches meaning all us girls).
