Description
Evie Williams lives a boring life – and she likes it that way. Her world
is very black and white. Routine is good. Excitement is bad. She’s happy to
play by her self-imposed rules. After all, they help her keep her abusive,
stalker ex-boyfriend at bay. Or so she believes …
But there’s more to the world than Evie could possibly imagine. Elves,
vampires, witches and pro-Humanity terrorists are very real – and she can sense
the danger they pose to her and others. Worst of all, they just realized how
precious Evie’s gift is.
As the world Evie never imagined possible closes in on her, Chris, the
vampire in charge of studying Evie, is getting more and more interested in her …
and it has nothing to do with his loyalty to his vampire father.
Blood Red: The Complete First Season is a story of unlikely heroes, damsels who
refuse to be in distress and political conflicts solved by fights to the death.
Note: Like a
television series, this book series is broken up into episodes. Each episode is
approximately 15,000 words long. There are eight episodes in Season 1 – all in
his bundle. You can pick up the episodes independently or you can binge-read
the season with his bundle. Season 2 will be out in August 2015.
Excerpt
"How do you even know it was Dan, Evie?" Lucy asks, her voice
quiet and soft. "I never asked you because I thought you had your reasons,
but the police said the place was trashed and some stuff was missing. Even
Patrick said that."
"It was the song." Evie's breath started coming out in short
bursts.
Not again, Evie thought. Please, not again.
"What song?"
"Foreigner's Waiting For a Girl Like You," Evie said,
another chill running down her spine. "It was the song that was playing on
the radio when Dan and I first kissed. I used to call it our song. It used to
be my ringtone for him and his for me." Evie hugged her jacket a little
tighter and wrapped her arms around herself. "When I found Patrick, that
song was playing in his stereo, on a loop. It was a message."
Lucy started talking again, something about Dan being gone for a year
and how he might as well be dead. But Evie was only half listening.
She was feeling that way she always felt - the way she had felt right
before Dan hit her. The tingling right under her skin, the feeling that things
were changing pace. She had learned, long before Dan attacked her, to trust
this feeling. When it came along, Evie dropped everything and ran for cover.
"Stop the car," Evie said.
"What?"
"Stop the car, Lucy," Evie snapped. "Now!"
Lucy glanced quickly over her shoulder, making sure no one was too
close. She slammed the brakes. Both she and Evie kept moving forward, their
bodies unable to stop. Their seatbelts did their job and pulled them back.
"What the hell, Evie?"
Evie didn't answer. She kept her eyes on the crossing ahead of her. Her
head was buzzing. At the time Lucy's Honda was supposed to be crossing, a car
came out from the opposite lane in a mad dash. The driver didn’t seem like he
could control his car on the slippery, ice-covered road. The light must have
been red for him. He would've hit Lucy's car head on.
The throbbing in Evie's head slowed down. The tingling under her skin
disappeared. She slumped on her seat.
"Did you..." Lucy's eyes were burning a hole on Evie's face.
"Did you just save my life?"
Featured Review
Blood Red: The Complete
First Season by Vivian Wolkoff is a 440 page series. It includes eight episodes,
several chapters for each, no chapter titles just numbers. The episodes are
short, I was immediately hooked. I kept going back to my kindle for days just
to finish the book. I loved the cover picture and font, it conveyed the series
perfectly.
If you like stories with elves, vampires, witches and the like, you will love this supernatural tale. It did not disappoint. It was right up my alley. The plot is layered and unfolds nicely as the book progresses. The writing was great and I really enjoyed all the characters, especially Evie. Her character growth was fun to read. Terrific book.

About the Author
Vivian Wolkoff has always been in love with words – even before she could
read them. So, it should be no surprise she turned to writing and reading very
early in life. She first self-published a poetry book at the age of 13,
followed by two honorary mentions in contests promoted by a small publishing
house in her native Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Then, she decided to do some living and find out what else she loved.
After college and moving cross-continent twice, Vivian decided to turn to
self-publishing again.
She is the author of Showmance, the first book in a trilogy about a fake celebrity couple and their
crazy fans, and the psychological thriller Love You To Death. Blood Red is the first novel in her Preternatural
Chronicles – a shared universe filled with unlikely heroes, damsels who
refuse to be in distress, intrigue and epic adventures.
