My Review

By Lynda Dickson
Learn your ABCs while you learn about insects! This book is a treasure trove of information about all sorts of bugs. Even I learned something, and that's coming from a scientist! For example, did you know that the praying mantis "turns his tiny head one hundred eighty degrees"?
Kathryn's illustrations are simple yet accurate and are on colorful backgrounds, so you can teach your children colors as well! This is a delightful and educational book sure to please children as well as their parents.

by Kathryn L. Novak

Read about Kathryn L. Novak's The Very Best You! You can also find out about Kathryn's other books, It Stinks to be Pink! (read my blog post) and EZ as 1-2-3: Come Learn About Bugs A-Z (read my blog post).

Description
This is an adorable children's rhyming picture book filled with positive affirmations for children ages 0-7. This book is perfect for beginner readers, and as a read aloud book for younger children.
Your children will have a great time reading fun rhymes with bright colorful illustrations while being encouraged and guided by the positive affirmations on each page.
It is never too early to encourage your children, boost their sense of self worth, and start them on the path towards a happier and more fulfilled life.
The Very Best You! is a children's rhyming picture book designed to:
  • Boost your children's self-esteem.
  • Help them reach their full potential.
  • Teach them to love themselves.
  • Motivate them to follow their dreams.
  • Encourage a happy and positive outlook.
This book will delight children with its funny rhymes and bright colorful illustrations. The Very Best You! was written specifically to teach children to love themselves, and to help each and every child reach their full potential.
Every page is fully illustrated and has a positive affirmation in each rhyme. These positive statements are designed to help your child appreciate how wonderful they are, boost their self-confidence, and encourage them to reach for the stars.
We all know that telling a child that they are worthless over and over again will impact their life negatively. Conversely, repeatedly telling them that they are smart, capable, and loved can also reprogram their thought patterns and change their belief system. A positive belief system translates to a better self-image, and a happier more productive life.

Positive Affirmations for Children
This is not the book trailer, but it is a lovely video by the author full of positive affirmation for children, along the lines of this book. Check out the author's website for details on how to download your FREE printables.

Review
The Very Best You! is an excellent book for young children full of underlying messages of positive affirmation, the difference between each of us and the uniqueness in us all. The lessons to be learnt by young children is masterfully achieved in a fun and visually stimulating way. The pictures are bright and the rhyming text flows very easily. Great job by Kathryn Novak in writing and illustrating this beautiful little book - my 4 year old and 6 year old loved it. I particularly like the theme of acceptance of others no matter how different. Highly recommend.

Book Trailer

Review
Ted and Raymond's Sea Adventure was a delight to read - the illustrations are fantastic and I really learned something about the creatures of the sea! A fun read for you and your children. I will be buying all of the Ted and Raymond series books for my children, and ME!

From the Author
Hi I am Rhonda.  A Shreveport residence, a mother, a wife, and a daughter. I have a wonderful husband (Chester McDaniel) who is the illustrator of the Ted and Raymond Series as well as my co-writer in Searching for the Unknown and Spirits of ChesterVille General Store (coming soon). I started my love for writing at an early age of 13. I loved to write even if it didn't make sense. I started my writing in serious love poems and different things. Then in 2000 I wrote my first Ted and Raymond book that turned into a series, The Croak 500. I didn't know that I would have a series until two years ago. As I researched for my husband to do voiceover work I came across some awesome people and then my book showed up. With NO animation or characters my husband made the book come alive. Then I was inspired to do more and more stories. And well.... Here I am. Inspiring kids to be better!
My goal as a writer is to teach children how they can succeed by being themselves. I have learned in life you do not have to be first at everything. You follow your dreams no matter how old. You look at other people and are nice and not be a bully or pushover. It is sad that life has taught us how to be rude, mean, and ugly to even our own family members. Kids need to learn at an early age to help the elderly, be a good friend, and be better with talking to others.
