Praise for the Book
"I purchased this book for two of my friends who have babies, and one for my future grand babies. It is a poetic story that teaches young children the value of helping others. I am most impressed that the authors are so young to have published AND illustrated such an exceptional book. I give this book my highest recommendation for your child's library." ~ Nadine C.
"I absolutely adore books that are written in rhyme. I feel like it really speaks to children, not only entertaining them, but also helping them learn and associate words. This is a cute story about a bug - a ladybug to be exact. Although she's busy and in a hurry, she takes the time to help others along her way and that's such a great lesson for kids to learn. People are more important than the project. The illustrations are colorful and well done. Although not professional, they invite children to study them and really pertain to the words, which helps spark imagination. I love that this whole book is done by two teenage sisters. It sends a message that anything is possible. Such a sweet story that's great for any age." ~ lilacqueen75
"Ladybug's Garden is a wonderful story about a selfless little ladybug who helps puts others before herself even if it means missing a picnic with friends. [...] Written in fun rhyme, Ladybug's Garden is a magical tale about the true meaning of friendship. The illustrations are colorful and engaging. This is a story that is certain to capture the hearts of readers young and old. I highly recommend picking up a copy." ~ Stacie Theis
"Sixteen year-old sisters Anabella and Sofia Schofield have written a sweet story about a ladybug who takes time out to help friends in need, even as she’s on her way to a picnic. With hand-created illustrations and sweet rhyming text, little ones will enjoy the story about friendship, sharing, and helping others." ~ RLK
"Beautiful story with a great message." ~ Adrienne Quintana

My Review

By Lynda Dickson
Busy ladybug receives an invitation to a picnic and becomes even more busy, whipping up "a batch of treats for every bug at the picnic to eat." On her way to the picnic, she stops a number of times to help out family and friends. Will she make it to the picnic in time?
This is a delightful story told in rhyme by twin sixteen-year-old authors, Anabella and Sofia Schofield. The hand drawn illustrations - also by the authors - are colorful and a perfect complement to the verse. The authors "hope Ladybug inspires you to look for ways to brighten the lives of those around you." I think they've accomplished that much themselves.

About the Authors/Illustrators
Anabella and Sofia Schofield are sixteen-year-old twin sisters and best friends. When asked in preschool what they wanted to be when they grew up, both responded, "A ladybug!" Their goals have changed, but they’re happy to be writing about a ladybug now! Ladybug’s Garden began as a project the authors wrote and illustrated at age thirteen. In their spare time, Anabella and Sofia enjoy reading, writing, watching movies, photography, music, and art.

My Review

By Lynda Dickson
Patches is a caterpillar sporting all the colors of the rainbow. Follow along as she tries to decide which shoes she should wear and what she should do today. And find out why caterpillars have so many feet!
The illustrations by Ewa Podles are bright and colorful and full of texture. Unfortunately, the rhyming text doesn't flow very well, and there are a couple of editing errors. Nevertheless, this is a cute book that can help your child learn about colors. The story is followed by interesting caterpillar facts.

About the Author
Angela was born in California to a military family. This meant that she got used to being the "new kid" in school every couple of years. It was hard trying to make new friends, but Angela discovered she had a knack for writing. In high school Angela began writing poetry and song lyrics. Expressing herself through writing seemed very natural. After becoming a Mom in 2003, Angela continued her storytelling to her own children. In 2009 she wrote and published her first children's book aimed at toddlers. Since then she has released several more children's picture books and released her first young adult romance series, The Alpha Girls, in 2012.
Angela's husband, Ben Muse, writes suspense/thriller books that can also be found on Amazon.

My Review

By Lynda Dickson
Learn your ABCs while you learn about insects! This book is a treasure trove of information about all sorts of bugs. Even I learned something, and that's coming from a scientist! For example, did you know that the praying mantis "turns his tiny head one hundred eighty degrees"?
Kathryn's illustrations are simple yet accurate and are on colorful backgrounds, so you can teach your children colors as well! This is a delightful and educational book sure to please children as well as their parents.
