Praise for the Book
"Lobo’s Howliday is a wonderfully sweet and funny picture e-book featuring the lovable wolf pup, Lobo. The book features beautiful depictions of the Arctic landscape; an amusing story of an unusual predicament Santa finds himself in; and an underlying theme of friendship as Lobo is helped along the way by some of the Arctic’s residents. I highly recommend this wonderful holiday-themed book…" ~ Renee @ Mother Daughter Book Reviews
"What could be more exciting than celebrating Christmas with an adorable wolf pup (Lobo) and his friends? Who can resist the rainbow sky, trees, and houses? I couldn’t!" ~ 5 Star Review, Mrs. D., Goodreads
"Kids will love Lobo’s Howliday and why not. This outing is best yet. The illustrations explode with color and seem to pop off the screen (or paper). When I first saw this, I thought it was some new 3-D trick with Photoshop. With each edition of Loveable Lobo, Ms. Murphy expertise improves. The stories get better, the illustrations get better, and the writing gets better." ~ Sue @ Kid Lit Reviews
My Review
By Lynda Dickson
Lovable Lobo gets a visit from Arty the Arctic mouse, who delivers a plea for help from Santa himself! How can Lobo refuse? He sets off to the North Pole accompanied by his trusty friend Roxy the Raven. Along the way, they encounter a number of new friends who help them on their journey: an Arctic fox, a polar bear, an Arctic wolf, and an Arctic hare. When Lobo finally gets to meet Santa, the lovable wolf pup finds he is the only one who can help Santa out of very modern predicament. How will Lobo help Santa save Christmas? You'll just have to read this book to find out!
This is an imaginative Christmas story to which today's children will be able to relate. The message of friendship and selflessness is both timely and timeless. But the true stars of this book are the illustrations, which are perfectly magical. Who would have thought that so much snow could translate so beautifully to the page?
A great alternative to the classic Christmas tales.
About the Author
While new to the children’s book writing and illustrating scene, C. L. (Cathy) Murphy has been doodling her way through life since she won a school wide poster contest in the third grade. She’s had the pleasure of working as an artist in residence, creating cartoons and painting murals with the children at local elementary schools. She adores the wonder and curiosity of young children.
She feels that creating picture books is something that she was destined to do, after years of filing away so many ideas, while raising her two sons. She is a member of SCBWI.
She lives amongst the wildlife in an enchanted forest in the beautiful Oregon wilderness with her husband and menagerie. She has always appreciated nature and animals have always played a major role in her life. The inspiration for the Lovable Lobo character came from a wolf that she raised for over 14 years.
Check out her book series and discover that you, too, will find Lobo lovable.
