Excerpt
Use essential oils at work to get that midday energy boost
Add a boost in your working day with essential oils. Essential oils bring their own special energy into the area and are a lovely way to nurture yourself. Essential oils are beneficial in reducing many of the symptoms of stress and provide relief for anxiety and tension. They are also great for mental clarity and focus. Research has found that lavender, for example, has an immediate effect in relieving stress in the workplace.
Ways to enjoy the benefits of essential oils
Electric oil vaporisers are safer to use in the workplace, in preference to oil burners that are heated by a candle.
1.   Add a few drops of essential oil to a small amount of water in the top of the vaporiser, and you will enjoy the positive effect for hours.
2.   Rub 1–2 drops of the essential oil in the cupped palms of your hand and inhale.
3.   Massage the oil into the pulse points, forehead and temples.
4.   Add 2–3 drops of essential oil into freshly filtered water or spring water in a fine mist spray bottle. This is great for spraying around the face or head area for a quick, refreshing pick-me-up, as well as for spraying around your work area.
The small therapeutic inhalers are easy to carry in your handbag or pocket, or store in your desk.

Recommended essential oils for the workplace

clary sage, eucalyptus, pine, juniper, fir, lemon, lime, rosemary

Description
This book about Bella and Sophia was written to show children how special a bond and friendship they can have with their dog. Dogs are wonderful pets and love us unconditionally. They will protect and love us no matter what. Children deserve to learn that at a very young age and grow to love all animals. Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character.

My Review

By Lynda Dickson
Bella knew that she and Sophia would be best friends from the moment they first met. The thing that makes this story different is that it is told from the point-of-view of Bella, the dog!
This book delivers the message that the love of a pet is unconditional and everlasting. While this message is certainly worthwhile, the rhyming text is a bit forced and the story would be better served by being told in simple prose. The illustrations, also by the author, greatly add to the tale. They are simple and colorful and clearly demonstrate the love this pair has for each other.
A great story for new young pet owners.

About the Author
Kathy Vassilakis used to work in the corporate world. She majored in accounting from Brooklyn College and followed her dream to work in corporate accounting for 15 years until she became a mom.
Being a mom was her dream all along and she left accounting to raise her beautiful daughter Sophia. She’s been writing stories for her daughter for quite some time and decided to write her first children’s book of many to come, I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart.
Growing Up
I grew up in Brooklyn, New York. I was the second child out of two. I have one sister named Joanne and always had animals. We had many dogs throughout my childhood from Pomeranians to Chows. I also had ducks, roosters, chickens, bunnies and many more animals. I was and still am a huge animal lover.
My love of books started when my mother used to read wonderful stories to my sister and me every night. She always tried to teach us both languages Greek and English. My parents were born and raised in Greece so Greek was their first language. Most of the stories she read to us were in Greek but that started my love for reading and writing. I learned both languages and am now fluent in writing and reading Greek which I am very proud of.
Family
I've been married now for five years and have one beautiful daughter. My daughter Sophia is 17 months old and she is my whole world. I also have a Japanese Chin named Bella. My husband, Greg, has always supported and believed in me, and my family will always be my inspiration.
Creating I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart
I have spent twenty years writing stories and brainstorming ideas for children’s books with my family. I came up with the characters Sophia and Bella after my own family. I was inspired by my daughter and the relationship she has with Bella and created I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart to teach children how special a bond they can have with their dogs.
Compassion for animals is greatly connected to goodness of character this is the motto of the book. All animals deserve to be loved, respected, and treated right.
After a lot of hard work and many sleepless nights, I was finally able to publish my first book: I Woof You From The Bottom Of My Heart. To me, finally seeing my book in print and being able to share it with the public has made all the late nights and long hours worthwhile.

"Hurry Home" by The Misfits

EXCERPT
Hurry Home
(Band of Misfits Book 1)
by The Misfits

Hurry Home is the first in the Band of Misfits series by Angie and Mary, who collectively call themselves The Misfits. Hurry Home is currently on tour with Enchanted Book Promotions. The tour stops here today for an excerpt. Please be sure to visit the other tour stops as well.

Description
Seventeen years after Johnathon Parker murdered her mother, hybrid witch, Emmalyn Evans, gets sick of her father’s overprotective, distant ways, so she runs away in search of adventures with her aunt and uncle. Along the way, she meets charming, handsome, dark warlock, Nik Baker who has a troubled past and harbors dark secrets. Together they embark on an adventure of their own and soon become close.
But with Emmalyn’s homicidal grandfather and overprotective father on their tail, and Nik’s many secrets hanging over them, how can they enjoy their great adventure? And will Emmalyn make it back to her father in one piece, or is history doomed to repeat itself?

Excerpt
He is freakishly tall. I’d say somewhere between 6’5” and 6’6”. He’s muscular—as if he does CrossFit on a regular basis—with black hair chopped short, but there’s enough hair to see he’s run his fingers through it recently. His eyes are what give me pause. They’re blue with a small swirl of purple. He’s from a Dark coven. Father always warned me not to get too friendly with them. He believes that they’ll either try to convert you, or kill you.
I have always been a firm believer in not judging people by the magic they use. Mackie practices all kinds of magic, and she’s a perfectly nice lady. There’s no reason why the same can’t be said for this boy.
His smile radiates warmth and kindness as he waits for me to shake his hand. I suppose he’s used to people being uncertain around him because of the kind of magic he practices. I feel a certain amount of comfort just being in proximity with him, and I know it has nothing to do with magic. He just seems like a truly genuine person, but I still don’t know if I can trust him.
“You’re a Dark warlock, aren’t you?” I ask before I can stop myself.
“My coven practices dark magic, yes, but I don’t consider myself an evil person,” he explains. “It’s not like we use our spells to hurt people or make human sacrifices. Our power just comes from a darker place than yours, that’s all. Of course, you would know all about that considering you’re a Hybrid and all. You practice all kinds of magic, don’t you?”
He finally drops his hand, realizing that I am not going to shake it.
“Yes, I am a Hybrid, but I would appreciate it if you stop using that word,” I tell him. “And I don’t practice all kinds of magic. I simply have mixed blood.”
“I’ve never heard of that,” Nik tells me. “Don’t most covens usually stick to their own kind?”
“My family history is a long and sordid one.”
He looks at his watch with that same warm and kind smile. “I don’t have anywhere to be. Why don’t you tell me about it over coffee?”
I stare at him for a long moment, weighing my options and thinking about my father. The dangers of talking to strangers, especially supernatural ones have been drilled into my head for years. Johnathon Parker hasn’t been seen or heard from in years, but that doesn’t mean his eyes and ears aren’t everywhere. Still, I can’t see why someone working for Johnathon would walk up to me and publically engage me. No, if he wants to kidnap me and take me away, he would wait until I’m alone. I don’t think I have anything to worry about.
“I’d love to,” I answer, holding my hand out to him. “I am Alyn Parker, by the way.”
Since I’m on the run, I figure I need a kick-ass alias. It would make it harder for my father to find me, but not so hard that he wouldn’t be able to track me down if something bad happened. Besides, Emmalyn Danielle is an annoying mouthful that I hate to use.
“Nice to meet you, Alyn.” He shakes my hand, never allowing that smile of his to slip.

Featured Review
Hurry Home features an original mix of paranormal elements, solid writing and an enigmatic main character. Emmalyn Evans, aforementioned main character, grows tired of her father being overprotective over her, so she runs away, in search of adventure. Unfortunately, the world outside has more dangers than Emmalyn accounted for. When she meets Nik, a warlock with his own share of dark secrets, she feels an instant pull toward him. But with someone out to murder her, and with her father trying to track her down and bring her back home, going on an adventure is anything but easy.
Emmalyn is an enigmatic heroine. Her struggle for freedom felt very real, and she acted like you’d expected from any young adult. She was stubborn, determined, intelligent, and just a bit naive, which you expected from teenagers. Her thoughts of how her adventure would look like were very different from how things turned out to be, as can be expected.
Nik was awesome. He was mysterious from the start, charming, in that bad boy kind of way. He hid plenty of secrets, which made him more intriguing. Nik and Emmalyn had a lot of chemistry between them.
This was an intriguing and enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more books by these authors.
