Excerpt
Then Heather shouts out, "Hold on where is Kathleen?" It is at this point, we realise, we did not remember Kathleen getting into the minivan.  Actually, she never got into the taxi to go pick up the minivan.

“She came to the apartment, right?” I recall.

At that precise moment, my phone goes – Sobbing over the phone, “You guys forgot about me, you said you were ready to go, and I said, Wait, I just need to go to the bathroom. Went to the bathroom, fell asleep, just woke up and realised, you had all left!”

I replied, “What are you 9 years old, who sleeps in someone else’s bathroom?”

“Look, I do not get out much, heck I do not drink much, so I was a bit tipsy. It does not take much.”

Out of nowhere, Brenda grew tired of watching her porno, and declared, “We all know what is going to happen he is going to come! We have to go back, we have to go and save her, from the sleep!”

“OK, so where are we?” I ask.

Heather says something that no one understands, but everyone nods.

Out of nowhere the local sheriff declares, “You ladies are not going anywhere, you are all drunk. I suggest you sleep it off at the local motel and go to where you are going to tomorrow.”

At that precise moment, Pamela asks, “Are you the stripper? I like a man in uniform!”

As drunk as I was, I looked at the sheriff, and laughed, and then I could not stop laughing, I laughed so much that the contents of what I had just eaten, went all over his undersized police uniform, he was not impressed.

“Ladies, you go and shake it off, before I take you all in.”

We all sobered up at that moment, and we went to the motel and we slept it off, including Heather.  None of us woke up in the middle of the night or anything in actual fact, we did not wake up for 2 days, because that is when Heather woke up to tell us it is now Monday.

“We need to go back”, she says.

"Are you trying to find a man on Facelook?" her Mom questions, after years of being told it is Facebook!

What if she doesn’t like him?

What happens next?
A light-hearted, romantic comedy about a single mom finding true love, which was right before her eyes.

Excerpt
“Auntie Christine said, ‘Just ask all the girls, and the boys will be jealous, and when they hear that you are having parties with only girls, and that each girl in your year is your friend, they will stop bullying you’.”

“Wow,” I said.  Are they that fickle? I thought in my mind.

Nevermind, Kimberley, you worry too much, and at that precise moment, guess who walks through the door? Tom, with my maid of honour, Julie.  I try and smile, thinking, It is for Eric—it is his party.  Do not cause a scene.

Christine walks over to me and hands me an alcoholic punch which she sharply shoves into my hand and says, “Drink it now!”

While she was making it, she saw my frown and said it is only for special parents, not everyone would get some.  As I look around, I wonder how she distinguished between the special parents and the non-special parents, because it looks like everyone has had some.

I finish it with one sharp gulp.  I start to enjoy the party.  The children are enjoying themselves.  More importantly, so is Eric.  He is really enjoying his party, especially with one little girl in the corner.  I tear them apart.

I’m not ready to be a grandmother yet, and my mom is by no means ready to be a great-grandmother.  She refers to them, but that does not mean she wants to join that club.

It seems like Auntie Christine was right because Eric was never bullied again.

Review
I must say that I originally approached this book with trepidation as I wasn't sure what to expect based on the previous reviews I read. I’m not entire sure what the other reviewers were expecting but I went into this without any expectations. I was pleasantly surprised and I liked the book. The book focuses on Kimberly who is a divorced mother of three who is stuck in a rut. Her mother suggests looking online to find a decent man and that is where the story gets a little topsy-turvy which I felt had its funny moments.

And with this advertising campaign, all ladies in their 30s declare, “Why am I going to Jamaica? To get myself a young, strong black Jamaican man? Do not go to Africa, to get you a young, fit native. Go to the Bahamas, to get a 75 year old man!”
Do Brad and Beyoncé ever reunite? Is it too late? Has Brad committed to Amanda and got married? Has Beyoncé settled down? These are the questions in both of their minds.
Fly, Pray, Love is a  cross-Atlantic romance in which US meets UK in this laugh-out-loud romantic comedy.

Excerpt
They go through Gatwick airport, and then stop at Duty Free.
I ask “Olivia - Is this a good idea? We only have 20 minutes to get to the gate!”
Olivia replies “Sure, we are near the gate no problem.”
Then I realise, that it is only Olivia and I in Duty Free.
I ask “Where are the rest of the guys?”
Suddenly there is a gush of wind.
It is the other 3 rushing by.  They are calling us guys they are saying it is the Final Call.  Sure! Very funny.  There it is the announcement:
Can Olivia Brent, Kanesha Grant, Josephine Mensah, Sandra Wilson and Natasha Thomas please make your way to Gate number 20, this is the final call.
I shout, “Shit, they are right, they are calling our names!”
Like mad women, we all rush to the gate, like our lives depended on it.
Olivia with her curvy figure, and tight clothing was running with one breast hanging out of her low cut top.  Running like it was the first time she was ever run in her life, we pointed out about her breasts – and all she could scream was – “ I do not care!  I do not care!”
Sandra’s red wig was half falling off, and she had one hand trying to hold it on and the other trying to hold her three bottles which she managed to purchase at Duty Free, with her luggage.  Olivia’s cousin and always good for a laugh.  She clearly did not look well, with her blood shot eyes.
Kanesha lost a shoe, and did not even try to figure out how to rectify it, but instead of taking the other shoe off so that she could run faster; decided the best thing to do was to keep on running.
Screaming - “We need to get on the plane now!”
“We need to get on the plane now!”
The obvious runners in the group – Sandra and Natasha were already at the gate, they were the rushing gush of wind that passed us, when they heard their names called and had no hesitation or confidence that they would not make the plane!
When, we arrived at the gate.  The ladies were cool and collective.
The rest of us look like we had been beaten, run over a bus and strangled, before we got on the plane.  It was obvious that we looked a state, due to the faces of the air stewardesses when we got there.  They did not even want to see our passports, they went bright red when they saw us – stating they just needed our boarding passes and quickly let us through.

Review
This book has a lot of light-hearted moments that will make you laugh and smile. Josephine's character is a riot. She seems to find herself in certain predicaments. This is a cute romantic comedy that you will be able to breeze through since it's such a quick read.

Excerpt
So, there we were in the coffee shop, introducing ourselves, and generally getting the formalities out of the way. There was a spark between us, we were getting excited just talking to each other, when he said,
‘Stuff this, we should just go to the hotel across the road and shag!’
I compiled and we shagged indeed. I am not sure for how long, because, next thing I knew, my phone was going and it was work. I had to go!
He proudly announced that he thought we should shag, so he told work he was off for the afternoon for a dentist appointment.
We both laughed!
I drilled his teeth alright and he drilled mine!
Next: to figure out if we were to meet again? Silence in the room. We waved each other goodbye. I returned to work thinking, this is the first time that I have ever done skived off work to have sex. I feel a surge of energy in me, as I thought about how spontaneous I had been and the fact that I would never do anything like that with Kevin. Little did I know it would not be the last!
Yep, you guessed it: every Friday from then onwards I was at the dentist!

By Bob Smyth

The criticism first: The humor in the story can benefit from a better style and delivery that can come with practice or a good editor. Felt that some parts can do with more words and set the atmosphere and the characters better.

The good: Enjoyable and easy to read and follow story. The best compliment I can pay to it is that when i finished, it left me asking for more, like all good stories you just do not want them to finish.
