Description
Love doesn't always heal. Sometimes, it reopens the wound and makes new ones.
Smart and ambitious Season Minett was homeschooled, got accepted into college at 16, graduated with a B.A. in English at 20, got a job at a prestigious magazine at 21, and isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. Twenty-two-year-old Season has it made and everyone knows it. Except Season herself.
People can gush over her all day long, but Season knows they’re just being nice. In reality, she’s accomplished nothing. She doesn’t work hard enough, can’t get her book published, and worst of all at 5’6, 180 pounds with a thirty-two inch waist, a forty-four inch hip, and arms too big for her body, she’s fat and ugly. She's such a disappointment that after her mother divorced Season's dad, she went to live with her new, younger boyfriend and left Season to mother the rest of her siblings. So Season is quite bewildered when the guy she sees every weekend at the bookstore shows serious interest in her. And she ends up liking him. A lot.
Season's not naive enough to think love will solve all her problems though. In fact, love seems to be making everything worse because her food obsession is growing more and more out of her control. But that's impossible. There's nothing wrong with counting calories and wanting to be thin. There's nothing wrong with trying to be as perfect as everyone thinks she is. A fat girl can't develop an eating disorder, let alone have one. Right?

Excerpt

Praise for the Book
"I loved the names that Ms. Dae came up with. I give her kudos for going ahead and writing a book that deals with a lot of issues young people and older people deal with. She deals with an eating disorder, drugs, sex, and a messed up family situation. So, bravo Ms. Dae I commend you on dealing with those issues!" ~ Tammy
"This was an interesting book. It centers around a young woman, Season, who is overweight and type A personality. [...] Season also has an undiagnosed eating disorder. [...] This book had a lot of twists and turns (and a few other unique names) and Victor ... can I just say that he rocks? Season tries to push him away and he won't be pushed away. I believe his love for her is what saves her, really. He makes her realize that what she's doing is wrong, and the impact it's having on her life - on everyone's lives. This wakes her up and she makes some great, positive decisions that make her life better." ~ Erin C.

"Jaded Little Lies" by Christina Channelle

EXCERPT and GIVEAWAY
Jaded Little Lies
(Four Letters Book 1)
by Christina Channelle

Jaded Little Lies is the first novel in the Four Letters series by Christina Channelle. Also available: Those Four Letter Words (novella).

This book blitz and giveaway is brought to you by Itching for Books. Please be sure to visit the other participating blogs as well.

Description
What do you do when the love of your life is halfway across the world?
If you’re Jade Reamer, you fill that void with writing depressing song lyrics, hanging out with asshole exes, and re-reading your dead best friend’s diary (morbid, anyone?). But she’s got a lot to deal with - getting to know her biological family, for one. Not to mention getting through her first year of university without her best friend, Nina, by her side.
Then there are the men in Jade’s life. Her ex, Connor, has baggage coming out of his ass since the car accident. Her brother, Bryn, thinks stifling who he really is while pretending everything’s okay … is okay. When that’s far from the truth. And Reed? Reed decides the best way for Jade to deal with his absence is to get her a dog. And when he finally comes back?
Well, things aren't exactly the same.
Deciphering between love and hate is the least of Jade’s problems … those four letter words are getting more and more complicated. Especially when she and Reed are keeping secrets from each other. Because as she forms new relationships and rekindles old ones, an unexpected surprise has got Jade’s mouth spewing lies on top of the usual curse words.
But little white lies won’t hurt anybody, right?
Note: This full-length novel follows the novella, Those Four Letter Words.

Excerpt
Today was definitely not my day.
First of all, I woke up late. Waking up late was not the best thing to do when I went to a school that I actually paid for. Because now it just ruined my entire mood, starting the day in the whole mindset of being behind. I had to rush for everything.
I had to rush out of bed when the snooze alarm finally woke me up. I had to rush into the bathroom to brush my teeth, and take the fastest shower known to mankind. I had to rush to change into something that wouldn’t make me sweat in the car, yet wouldn’t make me freeze while sitting in class because the heater broke down. I had to rush to eat a bowl of cereal. I had to rush to drink my coffee, and that was just not right. I had to rush as I drove to school while trying not to break any laws. I had to rush down the hall and quietly take my seat when I finally reached my classroom.
Without my backpack.
“Shit,” I sighed to myself, slapping my palm against my forehead.

Praise for the Book
"I am in love with this author's Dahlia series and so I had to read this book. Luckily, it didn't disappoint. So much raw emotion from Jade that I wanted to hug her and sometimes punch her. (but I think she would have agreed with me). Jaded Little Lies is a sequel to the novella called Those Four Letter Words but I think you can enjoy this novel on its own without reading the novella. Of course, go read the novella! It's worth it! The thing about Christina's writing is that I love it. Her characters are gritty and real, opinionated and emotional. You won't find a Mary Sue in this novel, but you might need some tissues, just saying. Jade is dealing with having her boyfriend deployed, getting over her best friend's death, and the fact that she still has to see and hang out with her ex, who kind of royally screwed her over. She has a new family in her life now, and her old family, her brother Bryn isn't exactly the same brother she grew up with. What she really needs right now is Reed. But when he comes back, everything goes to hell. Now I can't say why without spoiling the entire thing, but trust me, you'll be on the edge of your seat. You'll hurt with Jade and you'll laugh with her. You'll fight for her. This book takes you on an emotional journey in the best possible way." ~ Chey

"Alice in Wonderland High" by Rachel Shane

EXCERPT and GIVEAWAY
Alice in Wonderland High
by Rachel Shane

This book blitz and giveaway for Alice in Wonderland High is brought to you by Itching For Books. Please be sure to visit the other participating blogs as well.

Description
Sixteen-year-old Alice suppresses her need for rebellion after a petition to start a farmer’s market receives more snickers than signatures. That is until Whitney Lapin, a girl who speaks in cryptic riddles and spends her free time turning abandoned warehouses into beautiful gardens, leads her on a rabbit trail into the underground – aka secret society – of Wonderland High. Curiouser and curiouser.
Even though Whitney’s group of teenage environmental vigilantes operates on the wrong side of the law, Alice has never felt more free to be herself. Soon she stomps on her good girl image by completing a series of environmental pranks to impress them: flooding the school and disguising a pig as a baby in order to smuggle it out of a testing facility. But the group refuses to help with the farmer’s market or reveal their hidden agenda. She wants to trust them, and she especially wants to trust (or maybe kiss) Chester Katz, a boy with a killer smile, a penchant for disappearing, and a secret that will really turn Alice‘s world backwards. When one group member tries to frame Alice for all the pranks, she must figure out their secret before she ends up in front of a jury that’s screaming, "Off with her head!"

Excerpt
The plan had seemed utterly attractive while lying in bed. Foolproof, even. Take the keys. Go inside. Find the information to link someone to the crime. Sole the case. What I hadn't factored into everything was guts, which happened to be something I lacked.
I paced in front of Town Hall, my heart pounding as if it was ready to escape my chest and ditch me completely. I paused in front of the rows of white rosebushes lining the entrance and took a deep breath.
You're not breaking and entering, I liked to myself. You have a key.
I counted to three and yanked the keys out of my pocket, but my hands were too clammy. The keys leapt out of my fingers and hit the ground with a metallic clink.
I should go home and forget about Kingston's stupid-as-hell plan. I tried to move, but my feet wouldn't budge, weighed down by cemented desire. As scared as I was, I wanted to do this. I fumbled for my phone. 3:10 blinked back at me on the LED screen. If I had Chess's phone number, I would call him. Accomplices equaled encouragement.
But it wouldn't have mattered; Chess had refuted Kingston's idea. So had Whitney. If I called her, she'd try to talk me out of this. I knew what a bad idea it was. I'd broken up with my sense of reason when I first followed Whitney through the woods. Might as well descend even farther down the path of wrong and stupid. I let out a crazy laugh that echoed in the silent darkness.
Morality bites.
Before I could stop myself, I flipped through my cell phone until I found Kingston's number. It was absurd that Whitney had made me add my least favorite person's number when I still didn't have my own boyfriend's. Tonight, though, it came in handy.
"What?" he said when he picked up. He didn't sound tired, more like…prepared.
"Hey, it's Alice. I have a weird question."
"Wow. Didn't strike me as the booty-call type."
My nerves erupted out of my mouth in a laugh that sounded almost flirty. I covered it up with a cough. He was calling me crazy, and this was the first time he made sense. "I'm outside Town Hall."
"Keys?"
"Yeah." The word came out all choked.
"Be right there."
"As soon as I hung up, the gravity of what I'd done hit my stomach like a cartoon anvil. I'd just committed to committing a felony. With my enemy.

Praise for the Book
"... I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's a contemporary twist on the classic story, following eco-loving Alice as she falls in with a environmental vigilante group at school. The prose is often laugh-out-loud, and the characters are so dynamic and quirky they absolutely jump off the page (particularly Whitney and Kingston). There is so much creativity on display in the reworking of the classic scenes into this new contemporary setting. It's fun to spot the connections, though the book still feels as if it stand on its own. Great read! I hope there's more to come!" ~ Jen Smith
"A smart and quirky retelling with heart, fans of Ally Carter will love Rachel Shane’s debut, Alice in Wonderland High." ~ Denise Jaden
"A must read! A sure fire page-turning debut novel by Rachel Shane!" ~ Parz
"Alice is such a wonderful character, and the book really brings her alive. I found myself rooting for her the whole time! Highly recommend." ~ CSEG
