Praise for the Book
"It is easy to imagine the responses of young children while reading Bubbles: Big Stink in Frog Pond. I love Bubbles, despite his bloops, and the other adorable characters too. Ben Woodard is imaginative and writes with a witty sense of humour. His theme is definitely original, giving good visuals of the Frog Pond activities with fantastic illustrations. Ben Woodard’s story is short and amusing, but it is also a wonderful tale that teaches children how to deal with embarrassing situations like the bloopy one Bubbles has." ~ Michelle Stanley

My Review

By Lynda Dickson
Bubbles is a little frog who is a little bit different to the other frogs. He has a big, embarrassing problem - he can't help but make smelly bubbles in the communal pond. The other frogs all decide it's time for him to go. But when disaster strikes, who will come to the rescue?
The illustrations by Fran Riddell are beyond cute. The kids will have fun trying to spot the little red ladybug while they are reading the story. This book is a nice reminder that we are all different, but that our differences are not necessarily bad.
Recommended for children ages three to seven, especially boys.

About the Author
A spellbinding storyteller of high adventure, Ben has walked the Great Wall of China, hiked in Tibet, and climbed to 18,000 feet on Mt Everest. And recently learned to surf in Hawaii.
Ben is active in SCBWI and a member of a local children's writing critique group. He is a former Marketing Manager for a major corporation and ran his own marketing consulting business. He started writing children's stories in 2008 and has written picture books, middle grade and young adult. Stories of adventure and wonder. Stories that inspire and educate, and, most of all, entertain. His titles include The Trestle (FREE), The Hunt, The Boy Who Flew With Eagles, A Terrible Price, (FREE), A Stairway to Danger, and Steps Into Darkness. About his latest children's book, Bubbles, the author states, "Kids love books about bodily functions, but too many are just gross. I tried to write a fun book about bubbling the water, but kept the whole story more subtle than most similar books. I'd like to think the parents will appreciate this, and the kids will love it. The book also deals with bullying, friendship, and standing up for yourself. So, in the midst of all the giggles, the children will get a soft lesson."
Ben lives in Kentucky with his wife Lynda.
